Former Arsenal midfielder Gilberto Silva weighed in on Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus, as he hailed the current form of the former Chelsea man while saying the Brazilian offers much more to the team when fit.

Reports on Gooner Daily, he has been in great form this season, scoring four times in seven Premier League games, not forgetting a vital strike against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League. Mikel Arteta backed the German to reach 20 goals this season, and Silva thinks it’s possible.

“Havertz has all the qualities and ambition to score 20 goals a season,” Silva said. “His mindset changed a lot and he is surrounded by great players. He is certainly capable of doing it.”

Silva, though, still holds the conviction that when fit, Gabriel Jesus does more for the team than Havertz, who has struggled with injuries since his switch to Arsenal from Manchester City, but his absence allowed Havertz to shine according to Silva.

“Jesus has obviously suffered a lot with his injuries and these have created problems with his rhythm,” Silva said. “But when he is fit and fine, he can deliver more. Kai took the opportunity with Jesus injured, but Jesus brings something different.

Another Arsenal legend in Ian Wright has thrown his weight behind the fight by Jesus to regain his form. Wright said the Brazilian is still an indispensable servant for the side, while urging all Arsenal supporters to stand by the forward during these difficult times.

As Arsenal goes well deep into this season, both Havertz and Jesus will be watched with great interest. The two men certainly have the capability to make a serious difference for the Gunners, but only time will tell which will lead the team in goal scoring.
